What is eduAlumni all about?

eduAlumni is a community-based social networking web site where users can share their favourite photos, videos, and links with other members of the site, and meet new friends with like-minded hobbies and interests.

Is it free?

eduAlumni is a free service.

Are there limits to how much I can upload?

Currently there is no limit to how many photos and videos you can upload each month.

What are the rules for using eduAlumni?

Common sense really. We don't allow unsolicited links (spam) or promotional/sales materials from third parties, pornography, or content that promotes/condones racial or religious hatred.

eduAlumni is a community-driven site so it's up to you to play fair and be nice to everyone! Occasionally you might see content you find offensive or not to your taste. All you need to do is click away from the page, or if what you're seeing goes against our rules, then feel free to notify an administrator using our contact page.

And obviously, you may only post original content that belongs to you - so that means no tv shows, no photos or scans that don't belong to you. Only material that you own the copyright for may be uploaded. Any content we deem as not belonging to you may be deleted by an administrator at their discretion, and without warning.

What are the technical requirements for using eduAlumni

eduAlumni has been designed to be used on most popular browsers, such as Internet Explorer 6 and above, Firefox, Safari and Opera. To use the site your browser must have javascript and cookies enabled. You should also have a broadband internet connection in order to view and upload videos.

I can't find one of my photos/videos - where has it gone?

If a photo or video you uploaded is not on the site any more, it may have been removed by an administrator for breaching our terms and conditions, or for being unsuitable/offensive.

I can't find a users' photo/video that I marked as a favourite - where has it gone?

if a photo or video belonging to another user that you marked as a favourite has disappeared, it probably means that either:

  1. the owner has deleted it, or
  2. the owner has made the photo/video private, and only viewable by themselves, or
  3. an administrator has removed it for breaching our terms and conditions.
What is the maximum file size of photos that I can upload?

The maximum file size of any image that can be uploaded is 2.5Mb

What are these "tags" I see next to photos and videos?

Tags are a way for users to assign meaningful keywords to photos and videos so that other users can find similar content.

You can add tags to your photos and videos when you upload them, or later when you edit it. Simply enter meaningful, comma-separated keywords that describe your photo or video - e.g. "beach, Bondi, outdoors". When another user searches for "Bondi Beach", "Bondi", or "outdoors" your photo should appear in the search results.
